After completing successful 5 years in the firld of internet marketing, Ishir offered me the place I was looking for and I chose Ishir as my new destination. I started my career here as Campaign Manager - Search(SEO) in the Internet Marketing department. IM team is a fun loving team and we have loads of parties in the first month specifically disc party @ KINK, diwali party with Gol gappe and many other with ice creams, pizzas, jalebis and samosas.

Its now around 2 months now in Ishir and I've a lot of friends here. Some of them are Pankaj, Shobhit, Saket, Abhinav, Chandan, Manoj, Irwin, Chetan & Karuna. The list is even bigger to write. The environment here is so enthusiastic that you never feel like in office, its like a cool working place. You have several funny moments on daily basis. We guys have created a SMALL temple for Bajrangbali in the IM department and we worship every friday and distribute orange boondi as Prasad. Its really loving and healthy atmosphere for each of employee to work with its full strength. I think every organization must think over it and introduce similar kind of environment for the work.

19th Aug: End of My Journey in Mosaic

19th Aug.......my last working day at Mosaic. It was really sad to leave Mosaic after 2 years as I was attached to all Mosemps with a strong bonding during the time. But its the time and we all have to change with it. One can't be with you forever. One has to grow and changes are necessary for growth.

I can't forget anthing which I witnessed in Mosaic from 2009 to 2011. Joined as an Account Manager, Qualified the Google Adwords Exam, Chosen Employee of the Month, Promoted to Senior Account Manager, and a lot more awards like Client Wows, Whale Dones................can't forget the things. These must be the two most valuable years of my career, my life. Learnt a lot from advanced search engine optimization techniques to client handling....Thanks to all my collegeues there.

Missing all of you guyz.......will meet you again.

05th Jul 2011........End of the second year in Mosaic. It was another hilarious year of my life. After joining Mosaic in the year 2009, I never looked back. Joined as the Account Manager in Jul'09, I was gien a new role of team lead and promoted as the Senior Account Manager in May 2010. Accompanied with Ranjeet(Business Manager), I faced huge challenges and solved each of them.

06th Jul 2011......Beginning of the Third year in Mosaic. Looking forward to face new challenges and handling them efficiently. I'll miss Ranjeet this time as he left Mosaic now. Challenges are there as MTV is not as stable as it was during the past 24 months. Now I have a team which has alot of new faces but I am sure we can develop a team full of energy and efficiency.

Loud cheers erupted and the strains of Mahatma Gandhi's favourite hymn "Raghupati Raghava Raja" filled the air. Hazare began this fast Tuesday morning and continued it for 90 hours until government agreed on al of his demands for Indian society.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2011: Hosted in Asian Sub-continent

Countdown ended and the final war for the Cricket world cup 2011 has begun. ICC has created two groups for a total of 14 teams. Both group A & B are a nice combination of strong and weak teams. Current world champion Australia and current top team India are placed in two separate groups.

Group A includes current world champion Australia, Pakistan, Newzealand, Srilanka, Zimbabwe, Canada and Kenya.

Group B includes in form India, South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland, and Netherlands.

Each team in a group will play one match against every other team of its group. India, Pakistan, Srilanka & Bangladesh has fair chances to win a lot of matches as the world cup is hosted by the Asian sub-continent. All these teams have local support from the public too.

10th October: Foundation day of the renowned employer Mosaic, Noida

It was the 7th foundation day for Mosaic ITES Services Pvt. Ltd. on 10th of October 2010. The wonderful figure of 10-10-10 Sunday. Management decided to celebrate the auspicious ocassion on Friday 08th October.Party was planned in the new building Mosaic is about to shift in the couple of months. All of the employees were transported via cars and cabs by 1:30PM at the destination. It was actually in the E-block of NPEZ Noida(Noida Special Economic Zone). The office was awesome and spacious too.

After the lunch, the celebration actually started with the dance competition between the 6 teams namely Orkut, Facebook, Linkedin, Youtube and others. After the unbeatable dance competition, the award ceremony started. Headed by Vikas Malhotra, a lot of awards were distributed to the deserving employees of Mosaic. I also got "Stars of Mosaic" award for my achievements on "Client Relationship". It was an unforgettable moment for me and everyone present there.

Then a cold drink competition begun between the same teams. Finally the result was announced and the team Orkut(included me) was declared the Winner. One more celebration begun when everybody hit the dance floor...............

One Year in Mosaic: 06th July 2010

06th July 2010....the first day of my second year in Mosaic ITES, Noida. I finally completed one successful year in another organization. The first year was full of pressures, clients, innovations, worksheets, competitions, trainings, and in the end of it, I was a part of the team leaders. The first year 2009-2010 was absolutely a memarable 12 months time. I enjoyed a lot with my collegues, cheese burst pizzas, burgers, discotheques, client interactions specially Bruce-Dalida.I can't forget Bruce, even though he is not a part of Mosaic now but he was one of my best clients ever. I learnt how to deal with clients in the same year and Bruce was my first, who was impressed with my work.

Now the second year in Mosaic has started. I want to work here for another complete year as now I have another responsibility of handling complete team of 22 people. I'll write another post when I'll complete the second year 2010-2011.

TL Meet at Mosaic : A Learning Experience

08th June 2010.....TL meet at Mosaic....my officially second meet, but I was presenting my team MTV for the first time as a team leader. I started the ppt, as I reached the slide showing the graph for NCs, the director was shocked as the percentage of the NCs was 50%. Actually, there were a total of 29 NCs and as we have 58 clients in MTV, the ratio turned to be 50%.

Altogether we have 243 campaigns which can exactly tell that 29 NCs for 243 Campaigns is an average ratio. Well it was all a learning experience for me to present in the TL meet here. The very next day, I had a meeting with the Director again on the issue of monthly reports......finally I learnt a lot like how to tackle the situations if we are short of staff, how we can train our team mates to meet our targets and convert NCs into PFs.

There is a lot to learn for me......

Rahul vishela Promoted as Senior Account Manager

10 months in Mosaic. Eleventh month began from 06 May 2010 and it brought a really good news for me. I am promoted from Account Manager to Senior Account Manager in the TGS Deptt. in Mosaic. Being a SAM (Senior Account Manager) means that I am entered into the Team Leader list in Mosaic. It was a joyful moment for me. My team has party all that day, PIZZA yummmmmy.....

The very next day 07th May 2010 was declared for the monthly TL meet. It was a hectic day from the beginning. Collecting all the data, their approval rate, rejection rate, profit and loss and a lot of things, it took around 7 hours of me. The job is hectic but I am enjoying all the moments of my new role...

Party at the Disc: Flluid & RPM

25th March, one of the hilarious day of my life. Even if I was not joined with my love, Reshu; but I enjoyed a loy in the team party at the Disc. The celebration was offered by Mosaic on completion of 100 campaigns from one client ever in the history of Mosaic SEO.

We have planned to dance in the disc and left office on thursday at 4:45PM. A team of 11 people reached in the Flluid Disc present in the ground floor of Mosaic Hotel. Taking the drinks and snacks, now the time was to dance, Jayant started the moment alone and then me, Rahul and Alpana. It was rocking. Then the plan changed againa and we all left for RPM just beside Flluid. It was ultimate, dark and loud 'full of Dancing environment'. We all danced there and enjoyed the most in the extreme party . WOW

26th Feb : Holi in Advance at Mosaic

It was the Friday 26th Feb, first time after years when the Holi party was celebrated in the month of February. Actually Holi is on 1st March,2010, but it was celebrated in Mosaic on 26th Feb in the evening as it was 3 days holiday from 27th Feb to 1st March.

The celebration was in the evening when it started with the Antakshri competition between two teams which were announced 2 days before. The teams were namely Rang Barse and Rang De Basanti. I was in Rang Barse, around 25 members were participating in both the teams. We started the Antakshri with the song 'Rang barse bheege chunar wali' from Silsila. And it all started a great fun upto a long one hour competition. There were bonus points if someone dances during the dance. In the end, it was declared that the whole team will dance and can earn as many points as the number of the members in that team. Finally we won with an score of 95 vs 93.

Rahul Vishela : Employee of the month in Mosaic

It was the amazing moment for me when I was declared as the 'Employee of the month' after six months of joining in Mosaic, Noida. It was the result of hard work and ownership that took me to the new heights in Noida. I got highest number of PF, it was 11 and the highest PF score too.

The month of January was really lucky, first I became the Google Adwords certified professional and now 'Best in Mosaic' .....Wow.

Later the 'Employee of the month' certificate was distributed to me on the eve of 26th Jan. I am looking forward to the situation and trying to ahieve as many positive feedbacks from the clients. I have learnt a lot in Mosaic and I'll keep on learning to be the best client handler.

My trip to Agra & Bharatpur

Day 1 - 6:15 from Home town, Reached 8:30 at Hazrat Nizamuddin, Took the train at 8:40AM, Reached Agra Cantt at

11:45AM. Hired an auto and booked Hotel Basera at 12:30PM. Left hotel at 1:00PM for Itmad-ud-daulah (Baby Taj). We needed to cross the river Yamuna to see it.
Then we came to Agra Fort(Red Fort) at 3:00PM. There were a big crowd. It was possible to enter after 4:30 PM only, but we hired a guide in 175 rupees and he arranged the tickets with extra charge of 20 rupees in 5 minutes only. We entered in the Fort and saw there 9 inner forts namely Sheeshmakal, Diwanekhas, Diwaneaam, and more.
Then we went to see Motilal Nehru Park just beside the Fort at 5:00PM and returned to the hotel through Meena Bazaar at 6:00PM.

Day 2 - We booked a cab and left for Bharatpur birdsanctuary at 6:00AM in the morning. Heavy fog was there. We reached the sanctuary at 7:30AM. After having lots of fun there and cycling we left for Fatehpur Sikri at 11:30AM.

First month in Mosaic : The new story

My first month in the Mosaic :
Joined on 6th July - Induction meetings with HR, BM, Collegeues.
Took hand over for the projects from Amit upto 15th July for all the campaigns.
Then started the bigger problem , in reality it is a festival season for SHIV bhakts. The week for the KAWAR, where Shiv bhakts used to bring the holi Gangajal from the sacred river of India, Ganga. They go to Haridwar, the dev bhoomi every year and bring the Gangajal in the Kawar.

The buses and the main highway routes are generally closed and diverted at that time. My chartered buses for Noida was also facing the problem due to the closed route. I decided to go on my bike, Pulsar 150 cc. In the morning , everything was fine. I drove at 80KMH on the highway and reached the office in 75 minutes only. Usually bus takes more than 02 hours for it. Afer finishing off the work in the office, I was returning . The route was completely jammed due to heavy rush. I could reach to Mohannagar (the half way mark) up to 08 PM. Then again a heavy jam up to Ghaziabad. I had a headache due to to the jam. Just I found the clear road after SihaniChungi, I picked the speed, but Suddenly............., a light of a car and everthing was black...........................................................

Two persons helped me and took to the nearby hospital . They called ny parents, I got immediate treatment, thats why I am live today. I am really thankful for both of the persons. May God bless them.

Life at Impetus : Rahul Vishela

Impetus as such means the acceleration. Initially when I joined Impetus in April,2006 it was the similar like its meaning. It grown rapidly from a strength of 05 to 15, 15 to 35, and then upto 200. I was in the second face of the development there when I was leading the team for article submissions. I was handling 4 people. Prashant, Pankaj, Rashmi, Akhilesh was there. Later on Kailash, Ravi, Sachin also introduced in the team.

At the joining time, I was sitting in the Blue Moksha. After becoming the TL in articles, I was shifted in the Brown Moksha where other SEO guys wer sitting including Rohit, Kamran, Ranjan, Amit, Manish, Tapash, Shikha, Kamal, Pradeep, Amalendu, Hemant and Sanjay. Initially I was handling the sites of loan. Home improvement loan and College loans were my best keywords at that point of time.

After one year I was transferred in the mobile phone department. I and Kamal joined Ashish there. We were having a separate team including web designer, developers and SEO. Hemandra, Deepak, Kesar, Shiv, Madhu, and Gopal were the members.

Ultimately in the year 2008, I was leading the mobile phone team there. I was handling the adsense as well as affiliate program for the mobile selling system in Impetus.

Ultimately, it was a cool life full of improvements, increments, and work pressures.

After three and half years, I decided to switch from Argus Softwares (Formerly known as Impetus Technologies) , Delhi. It was a long period there from April'06 to June'09.

I decided to join Mosaic ITES Services Pvt. Lid. after the long interview session. It was from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. Fully tired. On July 06, 2009 I entered the premises of Mosaic as the employee. It was really an awesome experience there. Complete day was full of induction meetings and introduction. Today, on 15 Aug, it has been a nice experience working here. The environment is totally professional here. Daily there are seminars, presentations, group discussions, campaign reviews and much more. I called my first client on 10th of august. It was Bruce Atkins. The duration of call was 25 minutes.

On 14ih of august, I called 2 clients in a day fot the first time. In the evening, There was the kite flying competition at Mosaic. I also participated in it, with 1 Hit and 2 Flops. HaHaHaHa

India playing to find the lost glory in T20

After the captain's knock from Dhoni in the 3rd ODI against West Indies, India is top in form to win the series out of the asian subcontinent. Today on 05 July 2009, India is looking forward to sweep West Indies by 3-1 in their hometown.

Earlier on 2nd July, India could manage to chase a small total easily. India was given a target of 186 in 27.0 overs. Due to heavy rainfall in between the match, the target was again reduced to159 runs from 22 overs. India got the D/L target for the loss of only 4 wickets. Dhoni made 46 from 34 deliveries while Gambhir played a knock of 44 from 38 balls. India got a nice opening of 84 runs in which Dinesh Kartik too played a vital role, he made brilliant 47 runs. Hope to see India win the series by 3-1.

1. Give me a description of your general SEO experience.
A. My experience is mainly with my own sites in the fields of mobile phones and approving loans in the UK. So far, my site is on first 3 pages for generic search terms involving mobile phones, mobile phone deals, contract mobile phones in a couple of search engines. That work is ongoing at this time.

2.Can you write HTML code by hand?
A. Yes I can. I do use some Editplus and MS Frontpage editors and then modify the code by hand as needed.

3. Could you briefly explain the PageRank algorithm?
A. In simple terms, Google uses the total number of inbound(incoming) links to a page to determine how important the page is. This "pagerank" has little to do with actual search results but can make a difference on user behavior.

4. Have you created any SEO tools either from scratch or pieced together from others?
A. No, I do make use of many tools already available on the internet as well as SEO programs that I have purchased.

5. What do you think of PageRank?
A. In relation to SEO projects, it is relatively unimportant but can give an indication of how much work needs to be done in gaining inbound links. Basically, it is used when a webmaster approaches sites for link exchange.

6. What do you think of using XML sitemaps?
A. I use them. They are an additional tool to help the search engines when they crawl a site. They are not the necessary part of the site, its up to you whether to use or not.

7. What SEO tools do you regularly use?
A. Keyword analysis tools like wordtracker, webmaster tools, index checking, backlink checking, wordprocessor to check spelling and grammar, HTML validation and others.

8. Under what circumstances would you look to exclude pages from search engines using robots.txt vs meta robots tag?
A. Usually I would use the robots.txt to keep a search engine from indexing an entire directory on a site. This would often be directories dealing with admin functions or directories that only contain script or image libraries.

9. What areas do you think are currently the most important in organically ranking a site?
A. Text on page! Search engines utilize text and only text in providing search results. That text is found in many place including the URL and title of your pages as well as the visible text(content) you place on your pages.

10. Do you have experience in copywriting and can you provide some writing samples?
A. My experience in "copywriting" is limited to my site's blog about mobile phones and so far is placing well in search results.

11. Have you ever had something you've written reach the front-page of Digg? Sphinn? Or be Stumbled?
A. Not yet! I am not particularly worried about it but I do try to write in such a way that others would be inticed to submit my articles.

12. Explain to me what META tags matter in today's world.
A. The most important META tag for SEO is your page description. Search engines do make use of this tag but it does not outweigh the title or content. The META keywords tag is not much of a factor in the major search engines.

13. Explain various steps that you would take to optimize a website?
A. 1. Interview the client to get a good grasp of the site's goals.
2. Perform a keyword analysis to find best performing keywords that should be used for that site and for individual pages of the site.
3. Analyze site content, titles, META tags, and "alt" attributes to determine usage of relavant keywords and phrases.
4. Examine site navigation, link structure.
5. Determine the existence of robots.txt and sitemap.
6. Make recommendations for changes needed for the site and each individual page.

14. If the company whose site you've been workind for has decided to move all of its content to a new domain, what steps would you take?
A. I would update the old site with permanent redirects to to new page for every page. Then I would attempt to remove old content from the major search engines to avoid duplicate content issues.

15. Rate from 1 to 10, tell me the most important "on page" elements
A. #1 issue is content being relevant to expected search terms.
# 2 would then be page titles
# 3 is navigation structure.
# 4 would be "alt" attributes for images and other media presented on pages.

16. What do you think about link buying?
A. I discourage the practice for the most part. But in some cases, to beat our competitor, we have to buy some links from some relevant and good sites (like in footer or blogroll). One exception would be purchasing listings in highly reputable directories such as Yahoo directory.

17. What is Latent Semantic Analysis (LSI Indexing)?
A. LSI indexing ries to overcome the limitations of "literal" search term matching . For example, if someone is searching for "mobile phone deals" a literal search would only match the words used without taking into account words such as "phones", "phone". LSI can give more relevant results because it does take word usage and context into account determining what a page is "about" rather than a strict reliance on literal wording.

18. What is Phrase Based Indexing and Retrieval and what roles does it play?
A. In regards to search results, it is a method that search engines such as google use to determine "relevance of a page based on phrases" acutally used in a document. Related phrases will add to the relevance of a page where unrelated phrases will reduce the relevance of a page. This is one technique that Google is using to weed out "spam" sites.

19. What is the difference between SEO and SEM?
A. Seo is search engine optimization and is the process you use in getting your pages to place well on organic search results. SEM is search engine marketing and involves purchasing advertising space on search result pages. Sponsored listings are SEM.

20. What kind of strategies do you normally implement for backlinks?
A. I check the competitors backlinks to find hightly relevant sites and request a link from them. If reciprocal linking (or 3-way linking) is required, I may be able to place a link back to them in a relevant portion of a page on the site but if not, I will state so and may not gain that link. Another method I use is to submit press releases, articles, directories, blogs to relevant media.

21. What role does social media play in an SEO strategy?
A. Social media such as social networking sites and news sites can provide for viral marketing. Viral marketing has proven to be powerful if the content of a site is appealing. E-mail marketing is also used as viral marketing.

22. What things wouldn't you to do increase rankings because the risk of penalty is too high?
A. I would avoid any site with the appearance of a link farm. I would also avoid any "spam" practice such as sites that re-direct visitors to your site.

23. Why might you want to use nofollow on an internal link?
A. Many sites have links (shoping carts and member login or logout links) that does nothig to contribute to site content. The search engine does not need to index those pages. Also putting nofollow will not contribute your page's link juice, rather search engines will still be able to crawl your links.

24. Are you familiar with web analytics and what packages are your familiar with?
A. Yes I am and the tool I use most frequently is Google's webmaster tools. I also use the available statcounter tools for my own sites. Knowing what search terms your visitors are actually using to find your site as well as where those visitors are coming from will help refine SEO efforts. The amount of time each visitor spends on your site will help in determining if content changes are needed.

25. From an analytics perspective, what is different between a user from organic search results and type-in user?
A A user coming into your site from an organic search usually has never visited your site before or is performing a general search for a specific product or topic. These visitors are trying to find the site that most suits thier needs. A "type-in" user is specifally interested in your website. They may have found your URL in print advertising or from a friend. Often, these users are familiar with what you are offering and are coming back to your site as a repeat visitor. A type-in user can be a returning visitor too.

26. What does competitive analysis mean to you and what techniques do you use?
A. Competitive analysis means taking a close look at websites that rank highly in search results and comparing those sites to the one you are optimizing. They have employed methods that are working and are a valuable source for ideas.

27. If you've done 6 months of SEO for a site and yet there haven't been any improvements, how would you go about diagnosing the problem?
A. I might approach the problem as if it were an entirely new project. Again taking a look at the keywords and phrases that I am attempting to optimize for and again taking a close inspection of top ranking competition. If the site is indexed and does show up in the irst 10 pages of a search but on in the top three, I would look into modification of major areas such as page titles, on page text, and page descriptions. If the site is not yet indexed or has been dropped from an index, there are major problems and the site may require a total re-work and re-submission.

28. How many target keywords should a site have?
A. I advise not more than three or four well related keyword phrases per page. This allows for more effective optimization.

29. Why does Google rank Wikipedia for so many topics?
A. Wikipedia is an established authority! As such, it is referenced by huge numbers of other documents with relevant text associated with links back to Wikipedia.

Shimla covers a lot of spectacular landscapes, valleys, temples, trees.A true paradise for the travellers, specially in the month of december and january. One can see spectacular snow peaks, deep holes, green valleys, fast flowing water, flowers and pine trees, sacred temples at a common place.

Shimla is the capital of the state Himachal, a hill station at shivalik foothills. It is around 22km higher than the sea level. Shimla was considered to be the summer capital of British Government before 1940. One can reach Shimla after passing some dramatic loops, 103 tunnels and high bridges.

In the year 2008, On 21st Nov I reached Shimla in a Shivalik Express train. The train was borded from Kalka to reach Simla. Shivalik was a luxury train including the meals in the fair. The train took near about 4 hours to reach the hillstation. The moment I was entering into Shimla, from the summer hills, was awesome. I booked a hotel named Victory, just attached with the famous Victory tunnel in the city of Shimla. In the afternoon, I went to the Mall, a real market to watch. On the upper sideof the Mall road, the famous chowk of Simla is situated. It is the Ridge, and it contains the oldest church of Shimla which Christ Church. Although the Church was closed, but its really pleasant to spend some time at the Ridge. A movie theatre named Ritz is also in the corner of this chowk. I watched the movie Dostana there.

The second day, I hired a cab to Jakhoo temple which is situated at the highest peak of Shimla. It took around 30 minutes to reach there. The cab was looking as it was climbing vertically. It was quite hilarious. I worshipped at the temple there, a lot of monkeys were there to eat the prasad. After visiting the Jakhoo, my trip was to go to Kufri. Kufri is the real place with snowfall,the white snow. I took some photographs there and played in the snow with my partner, who everytime in the trip was accompanying me, my lady. Then we went in the Kufri fun point. I did go-karting, and sit in a lot of Jhoolas.

Finally it was an unforgettable holidays.
