Digital TVs has brought a new revolution in the direct to home media industry in India. First of all, DD direct and Zee's Dish TV came into existence somewhere in early 2006. DD direct was broadcating only the free to air channels, while Dish TV was broadcasting all channels available on the private cable network as well as the major TV channels from the world. Initalliy, it was supported with a dish that is to be placed on the roof and a Set-top box (that time STB cost around Rs. 8000). Later, when the digital TV from Zee grow in its network, some other companies also introduced the trend of digital TV in India. Airtel, Reliance, SUN, and Tata are the major players of digital TV this time. Out of these entertainment providers, Tata joined with the SKY TV to produce Tata-Sky, Reliance came with BIG TV, Bharti came with Airtel Disgital TV.
